My Story
Since 1992, my journey in the realm of data engineering commenced within the LAN (Local Area Network) department of CTM, a telecommunications giant. Ensuring seamless connectivity across 17 floors of the Telecentral building became our daily mission. Equipped with Sun Microsystems workstations, we vigilantly monitored concentrators, hubs, and routers to uphold uninterrupted local area network services.
In 1996, alongside university studies, I delved into the labyrinth of the Internet Department’s datacenter. Amidst troubleshooting frenzies and network reconfigurations, I orchestrated the tidying of network cables to ensure optimal hardware functionality. Venturing into WAN connectivity, configuring ISDN routers became second nature. Upon attaining a BSc in Business Information Systems in 1999, a full-time role in broadband services beckoned.
The turn of the millennium ushered me into the domain of International Management Group (IMG), catering to esteemed clientele with web hosting services. Spearheading network infrastructure reconstruction, Cisco appliances underwent meticulous reconfiguration, slashing website attacks. Collaborations with industry giants like Cisco, F5, Checkpoint, and Juniper fortified our security stance. Over time, I orchestrated a holistic redesign of the core network, amplifying security measures and performance benchmarks. Concurrently, Linux and Windows servers were deftly managed, augmenting web services.
An invitation to troubleshoot Manchester United Football Club’s network intricacies underscored my expertise’s breadth. Proposing and implementing swift solutions, network bottlenecks were eradicated, ensuring seamless operations.
In 2004, Sevenspace’s acquisition led to a broader clientele horizon, spanning from the West to East Coast of the US. Steering IMG’s operations whilst managing diverse network infrastructures underscored my commitment to excellence. Consultations with industry titans like Accenture further enriched my repertoire, offering insights into cutting-edge technologies.
Educationally, an Executive MBA adorned my academic accolades, fortifying my strategic acumen in 2004.
Transitioning to Sun Microsystems in 2007, I assumed the mantle of partner manager for the Tier 3 engineering team in EMEA, extending support to a myriad of clientele. Oracle’s acquisition in 2010 heralded a paradigm shift, prompting the transfer of knowledge to in-house teams. Embracing a coaching ethos, I nurtured a culture of continual improvement, fostering a collaborative internal community spanning across 30+ departments.
From partner management to orchestrating global network infrastructures, my primary expertise lies in cyber security management. From meticulously designing secure network architectures to fortifying them against evolving threats, ensuring robust performance has always been my cornerstone.
